Double Hex Nuts
Double hex nuts, also called 12-point nuts, have twelve wrenching points instead of six. That lets a wrench grip the nut from more angles in tight spaces and supports high torque in a compact size, which is why they're commonly paired with high-strength bolts. Monroe Aerospace stocks NAS1804 and NAS1805 12-point self-locking nuts with extended washer faces. The built-in washer face spreads the clamping load across the surface.
